donation guidelines

We are delighted you want to support us with a donation! In order to make sure that your donation is having the biggest impact available, please see these guidelines below.

we accept the following items:

books & media

Books

All genres, gently used in good or newer condition, preferably no older than 10 years

Note: For reference or text books we ask they be 5 years or newer

Must be in original cases and in good resallable condition.

All Genres and types ok!

Must be in Original Sleeves

The Following Genres are the most helpful:

  • Funk
  • Folk
  • Hip/Hop
  • Jazz and R&B

clothing & accessories

Clothing

All Genders and Ages (Women's, Men's, Unisex, Teens/Junior, Childrens)

Gently used with no rips, tears or stains.

In season clothing is preferred!

All Genders and Sizes

Must be in pairs and in gently used, resalable condition.

In good used condition or better with working clasps, zippers and attachments.

Hats, scarves and like accessories should be clean and free of debris.

All luxury items received in acceptable/clean condition or better.

Housewares

Picture Frames, unused candles, figurines, fun things that go on a shelf.

Artwork? yes!

Desk or Office trinkets? Yes!

Dinnerware, glasses, serveware and non-electric cooking materials (great condition dutch oven? yes - air-fryer? no)

GENTLY used please! Items should be clean and without stains.

Rugs should be free of debris, without fraying.

Open and Used games are ok, but must be intact and in their original boxes.

Puzzles must be unopened. We are unable to take opened puzzles.

Equipment must be in working condition. For large pieces, will be approved on a case-by-case basis - please reach out here for requests.

Small furniture in good or newer condition is a yes! All furniture is accepted on a case-by-case basis so please refer here if you would like donate.

Large Furniture is occasionally accepted based on space.

We appreciate your generosity, but some items can't be used in our program. Accepting them diverts resources from delivering on our mission and actually can hurt our youth-run business.

  • How does this work?

    Once you fill out the form below, you will receive and email giving you the soonest available dates based on the # of boxes and your location.

    Didn't get a date soon enough? This means earlier dates in your area are full for pickups - consider dropping off at one of our locations!

  • Is there a minimum # of Boxes/Bag for Pickup?

    Usually, our minimum is 8 boxes or bags to qualify for pickups in areas that we already travel. For more distant locations, we may require a larger minimum to qualify.

  • Is this Free?

    We do not require a fee for pickup, though we do ask you to consider giving a donation to help us cover the increasing costs related to operating a pickup service. All your donations are tax deductible.

things to know before scheduling..

  • We Cannot Enter Your Home

    For liability purposes, we cannot enter private residences for pickups. For home pickups, we are happy to pickup from a publicly accessible area (porch, vestibule, curb, open garage, etc).

    Live in an apartment building? We can pickup from a lobby or common area.

    We CAN enter businesses, offices, libraries, schools, storage facilities, etc.

  • Ensure Your Info is Correct!

    The information in your request informs the offered dates for pickup and send you reminders about your upcoming appointment. Ensure you have the correct address (including zipcode) contact #, email as well as any special notes for day of pickup.

    Still packing? Please provide a ballpark and if you have much more than originally anticipated, please email us to update your info so we can be sure to reserve adequate room on the truck.

  • We Offer a Time Range

    Most pickups are between the hours of 10-3, so we do ask that your donations be out before 10am the day of pickup. Some days this range can fluctuate due to circumstances out of our control, and we do our best to stick to this timing!

    We are not able to offer an exact time for pickup, but we can call you en route to your pickup if necessary.

    Do I need to be home for pickup? No, as long as the donations are accessible and clearly marked we are fine to grab them.








Please note, we accept BOXED books, BOXED home-goods, and clothing packed in standard plastic garbage bags. We can take small furniture on a case-by-case basis. Please complete all fields below to successfully schedule a pick-up.
